  • Floyd McClung empfahl sein Buch "Chasing Francis" als eines der wenigen, die er immer wieder gelesen hat.

"I’m encouraging people in our community to not only rely on discursive reason to animate their religious imaginations but to encounter God in and through direct encounters with him. I think being a mystic is the ordinary destiny of all Christians. Arguably the best Catholic theologian of the twentieth century Karl Rahner said, “The Christian of tomorrow will be a mystic, one who has experienced something, or he will be nothing.” I think he’s right."

"what the Church most needs today is the emergence of a new Francis. He was a social activist in his commitment to the poor and peace-building, an Evangelical in that he asked people to repent and follow Jesus; his zeal and spontaneity in worship reveal a Pentecostal impulse; calling the Church to again live a gospel that brought good news to the marginalized, a Catholic in his sacramentalism, and a mystic to boot!"

  • Wenn ich viel, viel Zeit hätte, würde ich das alles hier durchschauen:

"I decided to write a primer on today’s missional church. A primer is designed to introduce someone to a topic substantively but not exhaustively. …
One thing about this primer is that it is an on-line primer. Which means you don’t have to purchase a book, a magazine or a journal to learn about the missional church, you can just read through these rich links. "
